Perfect weekend

Labor Day weekend has become one of my favorite weekends in the last few years. When I was in college, I made it a habit to do something fun that weekend. I'd totally by up for a weekend getaway over labor day but I've come to love staying home on long weekends.

The fall is prettttty busy. Have I mentioned that before. Can you hear my hint of sarcasm?? I welcome the long weekends and extra time off. Traveling just means I'd have more to catch up on, even if it does bring adventure and new memories.

This Labor Day weekend the plans were simple. Stay in town, welcome the thousands of fans coming in to see the Tide play, enjoy time with D, and hang out! It was wonderful!

Friday night was a date night and it was wonderful. I'm the simple type. I like anything that involves connecting and good conversation, and that we got! I'm the sentimental type, so a perfect night is just about enough to drive me nuts. Perfect comes in the form of being together and forgetting the world is watching.

The weekend just kept getting better. The weather (which I know that sounds lame--but considering its early fall, low 80s and no humidity) was amazing. It was soooo nice to be outside and not dying of heat. Football was on anywhere you went and not only that, my teams were looking hot. We stayed at home and watching the Dawgs take names. I like, I like. We did some tailgating and headed to see the season opener for Alabama. I rarely go to the Alabama games..in fact this is like my second or third game in 3 some years, but I landed a ticket and went. That was pretty fun!

A weekend gets even better when you get to worship with the people you love at your church home. I'm becoming more and more convinced of that. Before church D and I grabbed breakfast which was really fun. Afterwards we headed to the quad, equipped with an ipod, blanket and cards. It was great. I sat in the sun, him in the shade and just enjoyed the day.

Yesterday afternoon after he left, I went to a movie alone--which I love to do--and then spent a few hours with Kelsey on my back porch. Does it get much better. I have much to be thankful for!!

Today has been a day of getting some things done around my house, walking in the park, reading in my hammock and a few other things. This is the life.

Things won't always be this great, but for now, I give thanks that I've had a great weekend, filled with wonderful fellowship, good rest, and great love. I'm blessed. Be blessed too.
