The day has come!

Its shocking I haven't written this entry sooner! Tuesday morning after morning prayer, I went to the ortho for a quick adjustment.

This is how the convo went. With tools in my mouth, doc said to me--everything looks good, unless there are changes you want to make, I think we are done. I nearly swallowed a loose wire out of excitement!!! Soooo that means I'm all done??? Yup, all done. When I went to the front desk, they scheduled me for the next available appointment to REMOVE MY BRACES. Yep, the day has finally come when my braces are coming off. I'm. So. Excited.

I plan to go get a steak without bringing a mirror. And eating hard candies without worry about chipping anything. And having all the laffy taffy I want. And the list goes on. Mostly, I plan to have a photo shoot, even if that is vain, where I don't care because I'm no longer aware of the fact that I have braces. I've hated them for the 16 plus months I've had them, will continue to for the next three days and finally will be without them. WHOA!

Even with such excitement surrounding that great news, thats hardly been the best news of my week. And let me just say this, I tell everyone. I've told strangers and old friends, all the same, that I'm getting them off. Even still, its paled in comparison to the week I just finished up.

This was the first full week on campus. I'm exhausted and exhiliartated. Humbled and excited. Its been soooo fun to be back in the swing of things with students, given the opportunity to share the gospel with students. Here are a few highlights.

I had my first training/development time with three new staff/interns this week. All of which were great. I'm thrilled with the chance to work with young new staff who have said yes to the call on their life and are committed to the mission. They are moldable and teachable and its soo fun to work with them. Each time was so fun to remember the energy and excitement I had as a new staff. Excited for more of that to come...

We had our first weekly meeting of the year. It was packed out. Everything went great and I'm confident it was not at all about us but entirely about God. The feedback we got was sooo encouraging and we had to pull in extra chairs. God truly is doing something here...

I've been meeting one on one with contact cards--always fun...sometimes awkward, but it reminds me that nothing is assumed and everything is personal. The gospel is individualized and needs to be taken seriously. I wish I had the chance to fully share each students story...

Our int'l bible study met for the first time--it was a small group, but again a total God thing. One girl had never heard of Jesus or the Bible so we had the chance to introduce her. There is nothing more special than that. Can't wait for the weeks to come...

We hosted a freshman cookout where 40-50 freshman who will be plugged in with us came, and we just hung out, talked, and chowed on lots of free food. It was soooo fun! I'm thankful for people who are willing to come regardless of fear.

Add in lots of fun activities on campus, prayer, staff time, etc. Its been a great week. I'm tired but sure God is doing wonderful things. This weekend I'll rest much and begin another week highly expectant the Lord will go great things.

Hopefully I'll post a pic without my braces.

Also...I know that I've never posted pics from EA...its still on my heart. I'm a slow processor....so just know its still on my radar. Be blessed and be a blessing.
