I don't have much time to write this and more and more, I'm seeing just how precious time can be. The first few weeks of school are crazy (have I mentioned that yet haha) and it seems all the pressing to realize a sweet lesson I learned this summer in EA. Every minute matters. When time is limited, it matters how I spend every waking minute. Its important how I 'waste' my time.
So as I sit in the CCC office having just finished facebooking dozens of girls I figured I'd give you a snapshot view of my last few days.
Our Kitchen Leadership Retreat was amazing. Understatement of the year. The Lord amazed me, aligned me, and broke me. I was humbled to be in the same class as the other 30 leaders, hearing their vision and hopes for the semester. It was wonderful. I can't wait to see how God uses them this year....
Today I've been on campus all day. We started our morning with time on campus, just prayer walking. What a great time. Its probably the most people you'll see in the AM on campus, the first few days of classes. Even still, it was energizing and visionary to see so many people just walking to and from class. I can't wait to meet these sweet students.
Then we camped out at Burke--a freshman dorm and gave our flash drives for free. They come loaded with great videos, articles, and links that lead people to the gospel. Its a great giveaway and super effective! Plus, it links them to us. The result is we have 100's of contacts that I'm left calling, texting, and facebooking, inviting to the next thing. Thats in an hour...we are about to go play ultimate frisbee on the quad. Pray it doesn't rain and students come!
I'm soooo thankful for my sleep schedule. I'm probably one of the worst sleepers in the world, and lately have been praying intentionally about my sleep pattern and been doing some different things to get in better habits. The result is better sleep and more of a routine. I'm getting up early every day regardless of what I have to do, and enjoying time in the word, silence, and breakfast. I can't ask for much more! Pray that continues.
Tomorrow looks much like today...what a great first week!! Praise God. May this campus and you be blessed.
