Fill in the gaps

Its hard to believe but its that time of year again. This past week, I sat in meetings all day with my staff team planning for the fall semester and gearing up. Its was also then that I realized yet another reason I came on staff--meetings are not my thing. I like face time and change, activities and stories. So with great exitement, I'm about to start by far the busiest season of the year.

That means a few things. For my non existent blog readers, I'm back. I rarely update my blog over the summer. Partly because I'm oversees, and then I'm traveling so much and sleeping in a different bed each night. I bring my computer but ignore it as long as I can. Thus, the long breaks in between posts. Alas, I'm back!

It also means I'm going to be tired!! Wednesday my team and I planned out the next month, literally making sure we had things to do every day to be the best stewards of our time. When I look at the schedule I get a little tired so I can only imagine living it out. Its long hours and little sleep, lots of giving and hardly any receiving kind of work. But its worth it. The first few weeks on campus for freshman are critical and for that, I give my time and energy for the sake of the gospel.

Finally, it means you will likely be hearing more of my 'what I'm doing' blog entries than 'what I'm thinking.' I invite you in, as I share about the upcoming things I'll be doing and just did, please please please join with me to pray. Pray for me and my strength coming from God alone, pray for the students that they would be marked and changed by the gospel, and pray as God leads you.

With that being said, today is the my last day of nothing. I intentionally finished all my 'work' related things this week so I'd have the weekend to myself to do personal things. I still have a lengthy list of things I want to do around the house today--the kind of thing that if it isn't done today it won't be done for weeks kind of thing--so I'm sure I'll be doing that along with getting good solid rest!

Tomorrow starts it all! I'll be helping out with some ministry tables at my Church (non CCC related but dear to my heart--another topic, another day) to help women get involved in the Church be it through Bible Studies or one of the many service related activities TCAT has to offer. I'll be working the International table, how appropriate :) Then in the afternoon I'll be on campus for Plaza Live, an event for Freshman and new students to check out the existing organizations to get plugged into. We will be giving out free stuff and playing games on campus. Should be fun and a great way to meet new students! Then Monday morning I leave town for an overnight retreat with our 'Kitchen' leaders. This is a leadership retreat designed to cast vision, align to our vision and mission, and challenge them to commit! Its going to be a blast. When we get back on Tuesday afternoon...we will be hours away from classes starting in the morning. I'll let you know whats coming then..

Thanks for the grace while I was gone. I traveled this summer for 91 days, throughout 3 countries, many states, visited dozens of friends and family, wore the same old clothes over and over, and was sure God was working in my life. Can't wait to fill in the gaps of all that happened all the while life continues on.

Be blessed.
