Airport chaos

God has a plan far bigger than ours. Long story short as to why I'm even in the airport this morning, we had a communication blunder on many levels. But in reality, it was a beautiful thing...enter in part way thru the story. Who knows what else might happen.

My flight was scheduled to leave just after 10 and I had about 8 hrs to spare I'm Orlando. I ALWAYS check to see if flight are oversold. Free flight, yes please. On my way to the counter, I heard "I you have flexible travel plans we are looking for three volunteers traveling to Orlando" I was first on the list. Mom would be proud!

I waited it out until they were announcing "8 minutes til the gate closes....paging passengers ...." until the very last minute. As it would be they boarded me. Ahhh the emotion. So disappointing. Meanwhile, they had upped the reward to two round trip flights thinking they really needed us. Disappointment sunk in. Oh well, get me in on time and I'll hang there!

I took me seat, buckled up and began chatting with my neighbor. The gate agent out of nowhere was leaning over me asking "you still wanna so it" ummmmm yea! Grabbed my bag and was outta there. So after a few papers, confirmed first class for a flight 3.5 hours later and 2 rt tickets later, I was on my way. Perfect. Couldn't get much better.

I've been sitting in a cafe spending time with God when a man tapped on my shoulder. Quick thought 'what crusade folks are flying today...' nope. Stranger. "whatcha reading?" I told him I was reading Jeremiah 6 and we dialogued over that. He asked what I did and I told him. He was interested in the name change...and we just got to talking. It was so encouraging. We exchanged info and he wants to send me a cd. Really God?

As he was leaving he said "hey this wasnt an accident. I was supposed to be on a later flight..." All I could say back was "no accident at all" if I was on the Orlando flight we would never met. Looking forward to emailing him...God is good.

Misplanned travel. Changed flights. Bad communication. God still reigns. Even in the everyday.
