Don't count the Dawgs out

Last night, November in college football happened. It seems to happen every year, so it shouldn't be so surprising--but when your team is finally the one to benefit, it feels shocking!

Kansas St and Oregon, who previously controlled their own destiny (sort of--K state would have gotten the short stick) both lost. That makes the SEC championship game that much bigger. The winner of that game (assuming neither falls next weekend) will play in the nat'l championship.

Here's what was interesting. I know it's a cake walk for Bama to get in--but they aren't in yet. So should it frustrate Dawg fans that the headline read Notre Dame to meet Bama in Nat'l Championship game? Isn't that a little presumptuous. I agree Alabama, you'll make it into the SEC championship game, but don't count the Dawgs out of it yet. Aren't you the ones that nearly lost two weeks ago, got slammed last week (score told a different story) and now thanks to some help are back in the race? It's the Dawgs that are playing great football. Yes, yes. Georgia got run out of South Carolina. A loss we own. A loss our QB carried on his shoulders the week he found out his dad was battling cancer. But our fighting team bounced back and is hungry for more.

So we'll see what happens. We'll see what happens the night of the pre-national championship. Ironically--Bama is my next team...but not this year. The Dawgs are my heart. See ya in the Dome. GO DAWGS!!!

Blessings.

I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone bring up the fact that in 1980 it was UGA vs. Notre Dame in the National Championship Game-- a scenario that could very likely repeat itself. Bama is a great team but they are beatable and I agree that Georgia has a great shot. It's been 22 years since a National Title so I'd like to think we want it more. Also, the team we have now is a lot different from the team that played South Carolina. Let's just hope we stay focused this week and take care of Tech :)
