Well, here is the latest.
ESPN does a daily survey. It is often about something that is a hot topic and allows fans to text in their response or get online to vote. Todays question said something along these lines, "which event was most surprising?"
Mine that Bird winning the Derby
Tiger losing the tourney this weekend
The DWade and the Heat losing against the Hawks
Here is why I have a problem with this. Mine that Bird was supposed to lose. So it was shocking. Tiger has played pretty horribly lately and he likely would put better through a clowns mouth to have a chance to hit a hall and find the bottom of the cup. But the Hawks, they were the favorite. They had home court. They were the 4 hosting the 5. They are supposed to be in round 2. There is just no respect.
I claim not to be a long term Hawks fan but have followed them for a few years now. I'm annoyed when certain teams get no respect because they don't have a controversial player or someone who makes it to the FT line every time he touches the ball. The Hawks just play hard. Zaza hits the deck. Flip finds the net. Al and Marvin are old school. Joe is quiet but deadly. When Josh shows up, you don't wanna face him. Thats why they are good. Because they have depth and they are a team. Yet its a 'surprise' they are in round two.
Well sports fan, you got this one wrong. One vote of a a few hundred, I never saw the results. It doesn't matter. It should have never made the list.
