I've been truly humbly blessed. Thats true without a story, but in fact, there is a story attached. Several if I was honest as of late.
Yesterday was my final ortho appointment before my surgery. That meant pictures, xrays, molds, new everything, and lots of extra things being put on. They call them surgical hooks and they are just as bad as your imagining. No one wants a hook in their mouth, no less 10-12 of them.
The point is, I was going to be there for well over an hour and was dreading this appointment. Its possible that its easy to tell when I'm dreading something. So maybe I wear my emotion or frustration on my face. Some may say...
The appointment went on and generally it wasn't so bad. I don't LOVE them tugging at my teeth, but I can live with it. I was just about finished with one of the staff said we have something for you, go ahead and wait in the waiting area.
Hummm, you have something for me? Slightly confused.
She walked out with a big gift basket filled to the top with all kinds of goodies. She said 'We thought this stuff might be helpful for you after your surgery. We're ready for this to be over for you' It has soups, puddings, drinks, puzzles and much more. Its filled to the top and hardly contained. Much like the love they put into the basket.
I was humbled.
I was blown away.
Its easy to convince yourself that things like surgery or weddings or birthday are a huge deal, then you remember they are just a huge deal to you, everyone else just goes about their normal day. But so many people have already gone out of their way for me for this surgery. I'm so blessed to have the people I do in my life. People care and really want to help. As bad as I am at asking for help, its a small gift from God to give me what I need. I'm humbly blessed, likely by you! Much love.
Surgery is Jan 27 at 8:30AM. Dr. Michael Koslin will be performing the surgery at Brookwood. Would love your prayers...
Blessings
