Post Season Freedom?

I regret to write that the Pittsburgh Steelers, the one and only, did not make it to the playoffs this year. Its a Super Bowl Hangover I suppose. After being atop last year, it seemed there was little fire (comparatively) in the team.

As a fan, I walked through great disappointment and strings of hope. I always believed they pull it together and make a run, like Super Bowl XL. But, not such luck. No such luck at all.

After a depressing 5 game losing streak, the Steelers snapped out of it and came back to win their final games. Leaves a better taste in my mouth but it wasn't enough for the Wild Card.

I'm used to leaving my weekends open in January, for the sake of the playoffs. But now, with my team at home and the post season living on, I'm left with much free time this month. Don't get me wrong, I'm still slightly depressed to not see the Steelers playing still, but I'll take the given time gladly.

There is freedom in my schedule. I have time to lay around and watch football while not stressing myself out. Its kind of nice. So this weekend, I suppose I'll watch carelessly, claiming that for a few more weeks, we are still the Super Bowl champs. Its called letting go, and I'd rather not. At least not until its no longer true.

So sports fans, enjoy the playoffs. The match ups and freak plays, the talent and adrenaline. Regardless of whose in, its gonna be great. Embrace the freedom!

Blessings
