Wrong Phrase

I was hoping for 'third times a charm.' In fact, the reality is actually 'three strikes and you're out.'

Lets back up. My favorite holiday has long since been tied. I have two passions at it relates to holiday seasons. Easter candy and costumes. So its quite clear that Valentine's Day and Halloween are my favorite. I know, I know, I've lost you. Why Valentine's Day. Its a consumer's market out there. When one holiday ends, the prep and celebration for the next begins. So traditionally, Valentine's Day is the first day that Easter candy is sold. I was a smart one as a kid...

Now, for the sake of this post, there is no need to tell me that Easter candy has already been out for a week or so. This I know and had pointed out to me a few years ago. Its exciting, yet disappointing. It takes the element of surprise away from my favorite holidays. But I guess its a good thing I can get Easter candy earlier than before.

Two years ago, I had my first jaw surgery on Valentine's Day. How's that for love. Having a man take a knife to your face to say 'I really care.' That also meant no Cadbury eggs (the single reason I love easter candy) for the entire season. Devastating.

Last year, I had plans to go to Atlanta to be with my sister and mom who was visiting. Two days before, I got sick. When I say sick, I mean sick. I had a virus and flu so said the doctor and it was painful. I was in bead for 5 days and it was anything but memorable. That was a a Valentine's Day I'd like to forget. I definitely didn't get to celebrate with easter candy, heartbreaking.

And this year. Valentine's Day is tomorrow. My sister is in town (which I confess, that already makes it better than the two previous years) but I'm still on my liquid diet. No easter candy for me tomorrow or the days to come.

Instead of third times a charm it looks like I totally struck out. This time of year hasn't been good to me in the last few years.

So I'm hopeful. Hopeful that next year will be the best Valentine's Day yet. I can't waaaaaaaait for my first cadbury egg in ages. Ohhhhhh its gonna be glorious. I mean really, I love them. Granted I hope I don't have to wait a whole year for good things to come.

In the mean time, Happy Valentine's Day to all you lovers. And more importantly, happy Olympics and NBA All star weekend, tis a good thing.

Blessings.

I'm thinking you should throw some Cadbury eggs in a blender and see what happens! Sounds delicious.
