Six Burgh

Needless to say, this is a long overdue post.

If you missed it, on Feb 1 2009, The Pittsburgh Steelers made history. They set themselves apart. On the days before, many still would have said they are the best franchise in the NFL, but the debate goes no longer. We now are the only team with 6 rings. Yep, thats right. A six pack for six burgh they're saying.

The Super Bowl this year was one of the best ever. Not only because my team won, but because it was a nail bitter, both teams were in it, it made history (both with the longest play and most rings won by a team) and it was a well played game. I tip my hat to Arizona for a good game. Its hard not to like them. Ken is our old O Coordinator and some of his staff is from Pittsburgh. But when it comes down to it, was there ever a question of where my allegiance lies? I'm black and gold through and through.

Being in Tampa for the game was a blast. For every 10 Steelers fans you saw, you'd be lucky to see one AZ fan. As it got closer to game time, they started to come out of the woodworks, but you just can't match how Pittsburgh travels.

We watched the game at a local sports bar, in a tent outside. It was a great set up, very close to the stadium. After the win, we drove around for the action. It really was rowdy. Its been pretty fun in the last few years to win two super bowls. I'd cheer for that team through anything, but it sure is a bonus when they are playing well and winning!

So heres to Pittsburgh, the Champions, and on top of the NFL. What a season. I'm sure you couldn't have done it without the help of Jen and I cheering--we hold that team together. Here we go Steelers here we go. Go for extra point next year.
