Face AIDS

This summer as a part of MTL training, we are doing something called Action Learning Challenge. We were placed on a team of people and the objective is to work together to raise money for a cause other than Crusade.

As an MTL, one of the things we will do a lot, is raise funds. Most people cringe at that...I somewhat look forward to it. Thus, we have the opportunity to formulate a plan and execute it this summer.

My team of 9 has decided to raise money for Face AIDS. When we were in our 2 hour meeting (which was timed...I know, its very Apprentice like..) we began to ask if there were any organizations that we had a personal connection to. I threw Face AIDS out there. I went out to tell my team about Austin, my cousin, who is cycling across country to raise money and awareness for Face AIDS. For our project it was perfect.

Thus, we are taking on the project full force. It seemed like a great thing, because Fort Collins is a heavy cycling town, so we are hopeful that many people will engage with that aspect of our campaign and want to 'sponsor' Austin. Also, its a wonderful organization that is mobilizing and inspiring people to help fight AIDS in Africa.

So, for the next few weeks, I feel like I'm not only working for Crusade, but also Face AIDS. My team and I are helping Austin and Dave raise money for their Ride Against Aids. Check out their blog and follow their journey! http://www.rideagainstaids2009.blogspot.com/

Who would have ever thought that while I raise funds full time that I'd be humbled to raise for another organization! I actually like the challenge, enjoy the process, and love the growth. Blessings.

Christie, you're so funny. But since you like raising $$, want to add another cause to the list?? The Get AG to UF fund!
