Update from the mountains

Its been a wonderful weekend. I'm not much into updates on what I've been doing, but this one seems needed. Much has happened and is happening here.

I'm THRILLED to let you in one something thats been in the works for some time. For the last few months we have been praying for new staff at Bama. God has faithfully answered our prayers!! As I'm out here for training, there are other people joining staff with Crusade along with people talking IBS classes to further their education. In the New Staff class, we have been assigned 4 new staff. So with D also coming to Bama, that makes 5 new staff total. The irony yet providence is that a while back, we sorta began to pray for that. Seemed big dream and slightly random, but the Lord has honored it. D will be back from East Asia, working on support and reporting asap, Justin and Alana, a couple who graduated from UGA (Go Dawgs) will join us after they raise sup, and two previous interns from UCF, Katie and Rachel will complete our team. I'm sooo stoked about our team. Its pretty awesome to have a full crew again!

All that to say, this weekend I've gotten some good time with the girls--Rachel and Katie. My roommate Stephanie wanted quality time together, so went to dinner and a few new staffers joined us. It ended up being a fun night in Old town :) Good pizza, good company, good times.

The 4th was spent doing a few things. We started the day doing an adventure--literally. We went tubing down the Poudre river. It was more of an adventure to get our tubes to the river. But I ensure you the float was fun and freezing. We had a blast and it was all in great company. Outdoorsy things are always a must in CO. The evening was a cookout, throwing the baseball, hotdogs, cards, and fireworks. I shifted around with a lot of people. I had a moment where I just thought, I'm sooo thankful to be on staff. I have so many wonderful friends out here--not just people to hang out with, but people who know me. It was great.

Plus, I love spending the 4th with people who have overseas experience. It makes being in the states a little more special. I think it makes you step back and take it all in. Its not surprise that not every place is as fortunate as we are in the States, but when you are with people that live that out, the 4th becomes a little more real.

So now I find myself writing. I had breakfast with Whitney and Millie and then we did some pool time. I'm about to head to the airport to get a special someone. I can't even begin to explain the emotion tied in right now with what I feel. I'm pretty excited to say the least : )

I'll keep you posted! (Probably won't write much this week, its a busy few days ahead...and I don't think blogging will be my first priority, but who knows maybe I'll find time)
