What that first means, is I won't be in CO anymore. My time in Ft. Collins is finishing up and tonight I'll be saying goodbye to my closest 6,000 friends on staff. Its been wonderful to be here for the staff conference and even training, but I'm ready to leave. Not at all ready to leave the rich friendships I have, but ready to be home.
But leaving means transition. When I go to the airport tomorrow and see Crusade face after face, I'll know that most people are going home. I'm going to someone else's home. It will be another 4 days until I get home. Although it will be so much fun to be in Atlanta, you just reach a point where only your own bed feels comfortable and your couch (which hasn't arrived) feels perfect. So I'll transition into and out of Atlanta before arriving in Tuscaloosa on Sunday.
When I finally do get to Tuscaloosa, the transition doesn't stop. In fact, its just beginning. Besides the fact that I'll be working through the time change (minor but something) I'll also be jumping into the start of the fall semester, and FAST! I have a new roommate coming and nearly a new apartment. D will be in the states and Tuscaloosa at that, so change is coming for us in that arena. I'm taking on this new role that I've been training for all summer so I'll be learning what its like to do that as I do it.
I suspect the fall will be hard. And busy. And joyful and tiring and fun and mysterious. I'm excited for whats to come, anticipating a lot of beautiful things and longing for this great transition to be over. For as much as I love change, I think I'm ready for a little continuity.
So long CO, its been a wonderful summer. I'll be sure to post some pictures when I have the ability to upload them...
