I am so stinking sick of hearing about Tim Tebow. Last night on Sports Center there was a special on get this, how Tim is the most team oriented not about himself player, but the special was ALL ABOUT HIM. Its like sportscasters have missed it. If they want to portray who he really is, I suspect there wouldn't be the constant idolizing and drooling over him. Its sickening really. I mean, you watch a Florida game and its pretty much all you hear about is how great he is and all that he does. If you watch a second and you will get the pleasure of hearing the exact same stories.
The horrible thing is, I actually like the guy. I like what he stands for, his intensity and passion, and way he plays football. The part I don't like is how there are dozens and even hundreds of other guys out there like him, playing football or another sport, that do just what he does...maybe for a smaller team or with less athletic talent and people could care less. Its like sportscasters think he is Jesus or something. The good news is I believe he is grounded...but it sure does get old.
All that to say, I long for the day when we don't have to hear about it anymore. I trust that Tebow will continue on living a life of faith and integrity, even without worship. He may or may not play in the NFL, but I don't think that will matter much. The NFL doesn't exactly stand on character and could care less about someone who walks with Jesus. How many times have you heard about Kurt Warner and the marvelous things he has done with his faith? Probably not many yet he has been doing it for years.
I'm sure Gameday and sportscenter will go into some depression of some sort when they no longer have him to worship, but they are likely to find the next big thing. And I'm likly to be just as annoyed. Let them play football and let us watch football. A few human interest stories are ok, but perhaps a change up or new person from time to time. Just a thought.

THANK YOU!! I was just about to mention something like this in my blog. Were you not ready to throw up after the game on Thursday? That's all the sportscasters talked about THE WHOLE TIME. Gag a maggot.
Tim Tebow's a good guy, but he's still a Gator.
