'Pittsburghs going to the Super Bowl'

As mentioned in the last post, Jennifer and I went to Pittsburgh this past weekend for the AFC Championship. If you don't follow NFL, you should. If you didn't know that Pittsburgh beat Baltimore, allow me to be the first to tell you, they did. It was a sweet game.

We arrive in Pitt around noon, parked and began the search for tickets. About five minutes after being out of the car, my feet were wet from the snow. I couldn't surrender wearing my Steelers shoes for the game, it just meant my feet would be freezing. We walked around, with me holding up two fingers asking for tickets. About two hours into the search, we stumbled across two gracious fans who were selling their lower level tickets for face value. Saweet! Its a huge relief to have tickets in your hand. Then we could just enjoy the tailgating, hot dogs, Steelers fans, and NFC game. We took a ton of pictures and got rowdy. It wasn't long before we went into the stadium. Its tradition that J and I go down to the field to watch the guys warm up and take pics.

Time sure does fly, because soon enough I found myself in my seat at the start of the game. It was the loudest I'd ever heard Heinz Field, appropriately so! There were very few Ravens fans, which is the way I like it. The game was unreal, to say the least. Every big play, we went NUTS. I mean, we were jumping up and down, waving our towns, high fiving people..it was great!

Two great moments. Troy had a pick six with about 4 minutes to play, to put us up by 9. It was then that the whole stadium realized the game was ours. Until then it was tense, but afterwards it was like a three minute continuous celebration...one of the best I've been a part of. I was out of breath when we stopped jumping up and down.

The second great moment was when the game was over...a certain song started playing. If you are a Steelers fan, I suspect you know the song. da na na....Here we go....Cheer the Steelers, black and the gold....WE WENT NUTS. You see, the chorus of the song goes a little something like this...'Here we go, Steelers, Here we go, Pittsburghs going to the SUPER Bowl.' Only one other time in my life have I been able to sing that song and it actually be true (when we went to super bowl XL) So it was sooo fun to sing it in the presence of 65,350 people. Oh the joy. It was sooooooooo great.

So two weeks from now, we will be in Tampa. The Steelers will be, and I will be. I can't wait. It will be warmer, which will be nice. Go Steelers. Lets put a ring on the next hand.

"Saweet!" That's all it took for me to laugh out loud. So glad you got to go.
