Huge Hype

This week has been pretty fun in the scope of preparing for college football. There are a ton of great games going on this weekend, but none that top the one that I'll be at. Really, none that top two of my top interest. It might even be better than my two favorite teams playing because I genuinely want one team to win and the other to win. The Georgia Alabama game is this weekend. I graduated from UGA and now work with students at UA.

Sunday night, it was announced that UGA would be doing a blackout. Its simple, we were black to the game and the players show up in their black jerseys. As if a 7:45 game wasn't already going to be rowdy, this just adds to it. Alabama responds in fear. They call it the white out. I call it the surrender, capture, defeat. But its their attempt to battle back in Samford. But lets face it, its 90,000 plus and they will occupy 8,000...maybe. No one will notice their lame white. I don't think they would wear white if they didn't think the black matter. Fear the blackout.

So the hype continues. Soooo many people are going to be in town for the game. Of course a lot of old friends are still in Athens...finishing up school God bless them! Then there are the lucky souls who never left after graduating, the crusade crew, and the traveling bunch like me who is all coming back. Then on the Bama side, there are a ton of students and alumni that are coming over that are now "in my life."  It feels like all my worlds are going to clash and get to hang out. I'm not totally sure what the weekend will look like, but I suspect it will be rowdy, wild, little sleep, a time for catching up and trash talking, and of course, a time of pure intimidation in all black.

I can't wait! All week, I've just been counting down the days. We leave tomorrow when Samuel (Jeff's son) gets out of school. We will make the beautiful drive east to the best college town in America and let the fun begin. GO DAWGS

Oh how this post hurts me... I was SO excited for this game. I really thought we could do it...

Athens is the best college town in America, isn't it? Great post even if we're disappointed. See ya there for UT?
